Cesena
Ancient Malatesta capital, Cesena is one of the most beautiful art cities of Emilia Romagna halfway between the blue of the Adriatic Sea and the green of the countryside.
It is a city on a human scale, not huge (it does not reach 100.000 inhabitants), lively but not chaotic, graceful and not excessive, welcoming and creative. Cultural tradition is combined with hospitality and good living also from a gastronomic point of view (Piadina and Cappelletti are the main dish)..
Not to be missed: Piazza del Popolo and the Masini Fountain – Malatesta Library – Malatesta Fortress.
Romagna Sea Coast

Sea, Art, Culture, Food and Wine and Holidays are just a few words that describe this wonderful part of Emilia Romagna. The splendid Port Channel designed by Leonardo da Vinci in Cesenatico, the elegance of Milano Marittima, Rimini, Riccione, Cervia, are just some of the major cities where the beach, always easily accessible, alternates with enchanting streets, squares and streets for shopping and fun.
Malatesta Library
The only one example in the world of a humanistic library perfectly preserved in the building, in the furnishings and in the book endowment.
The Malatesta Library of Cesena was commissioned by Malatesta Novello, lord of the city, in the mid-15th century. The only fifteenth-century library to have come down to us intact in all its parts (building, furnishings, books). For over half a millennium this extraordinary place has been a point of reference for Italian culture, and beyond, given that in 2005 UNESCO included it in the “Register of World Memory”, the first Italian library to have this recognition.
Mountain Biking and Cycling
Breathtaking trails for mountain biking, endless roads for cyclists, ancient villages, wonderful nature, Romagna is the land of cycling. Romagna is a cycling legend like Marco Pantani.
The Romagna area is very well prepared for two wheels, an example are the thousands of kilometres of routes, the organized events of national and international fame and legends such as Marco Pantani.
Thermal Establishments
The richness of the territory also passes through the numerous Spas located near the B&B.
The Grand Hotel “Terme della Fratta” stands out, located in Fratta Terme just 30 minutes by car and the Ròseo Euroterme Thermal Complex located in Bagno di Romagna about 45 minutes by car.
Nove Colli
Nove Colli is the cycling race that has attracted all the greatest sportsmen since 1971.
200 kilometres of breathtaking race along the scenic wonders of the Romagna Apennines; a mix of scenic beauty, sweat and effort that offers unforgettable emotions.
Walks and Trekking
With thousands of kilometres of trails, the Romagna area is ideal for hiking.
The famous “Cammino di San Vicinio” stands out (immediately close to the B&B) which, with over 300 kilometres in length, starts from Sarsina (FC) and along a circular route, touches the provinces of Forlì-Cesena, Arezzo and Rimini. It is divided into 16 stages that wind along the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennine, touching 17 municipalities and revealing breathtaking landscapes and suggestions. One of the oldest Italian historical paths.
Chestnuts
A few kilometers from the B&B Il Raggiolo there is a large proprietary chestnut grove where it is possible to pick chestnuts.
By the popularity of this fruit in this area, in October the Pro Loco of Sarsina always organizes the festival dedicated to the sweet chestnut of Pieve di Rivoschio. In fact, local agriculture has the production of chestnuts as its flagship.
